Senior Software Engineer – Agentic Coding

Alignerr is looking for Senior Software Engineers to work at the absolute frontier of agentic AI. In this role, you will build, evaluate, and stress-test autonomous coding systems designed to reason through complex problems, execute multi-step technical plans, and produce production-quality software with minimal human intervention.

This is a fully remote, highly flexible contract role where deep architectural thinking meets the most transformative technology of our time.

What You’ll Do

• Refine Agentic Workflows: Design and optimize systems where AI autonomously plans, writes, tests, and iterates on complex code bases.
• Code Quality & Auditing: Evaluate AI-generated code for structural correctness, efficiency, security vulnerabilities, and adherence to industry best practices.
• Build Technical Benchmarks: Create advanced, real-world coding challenges and rigorous benchmarks to test the limits of autonomous AI agents.
• Analyze Reasoning Chains: Review and provide expert-level feedback on AI reasoning pathways, tool selection, and code output logic.
• Deconstruct Failure Modes: Identify edge cases, logic breaks, and architectural limitations where autonomous agents break down.
• Develop Evaluation Tooling: Build and improve automated testing harnesses, rubrics, and evaluation frameworks for agentic systems.

Who You Are

• Experienced Builder: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping and maintaining production-grade systems.
• Polyglot Developer: Proficient in one or more major languages, including Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, C++, Go, or Rust.
• Architectural Thinker: Possess a strong understanding of software architecture, clean design patterns, and distributed system principles.
• Expert Reviewer: Highly comfortable reading, debugging, and tracing code across diverse repositories and unfamiliar engineering styles.
• Modern Workflow Fluent: Deeply familiar with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), modern testing frameworks, and rigorous code reviews.
• Analytical Communicator: A self-directed problem solver who can precisely articulate why a piece of code or an AI reasoning chain is flawed.

Nice to Have (Bonus Points)

• Experience with prompt engineering, LLM-based developer tools, or AI/ML pipelines.
• Familiarity with agentic frameworks such as LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGPT, or OpenAI function calling.
• A strong background in compiler design, dev tools, static analysis, or automated code generation.
• Prior exposure to AI model training mechanics (RLHF, preference labeling, or alignment workflows).
